Determination of the rational location of the hinge attachment points of the springing system to the supporting structure of a “formula student” class racing car

Abstract

The article describes the developed mathematical model of the rear suspension system of a racing car of the Formula Student class, which allows analyzing the kinematics of the suspension system. Based on it, a search was carried out for the rational location of the hinge attachment points of the springing system to the carrier system using a surrogate algorithm, taking into account changes in the angles of installation of the wheels. The paper presents an analysis of the kinematics of the springing system for the rational coordinates of the attachment points obtained as a result of the calculation, which meet the design requirements and reduce the range of changes in the angle of convergence during the operation of the springing system. As a result of the performed research, the rational location of the hinge points was determined, taking into account the anti-pecking geometry.
